This commercial air duct cleaning was completed at a daycare center in Loudoun County, VA at their roughly 20,000-square-foot building.
This local daycare center had concerns with microbial growth and wanted to be proactive with the center’s cleanliness and indoor air quality. They were looking for a reputable air duct cleaning company and chose Duct Cleaning based on our reviews and reputation for cleaning other commercial buildings in Northern Virginia. The daycare center also liked our flexibility to clean around their centers hours and complete the air duct cleaning and anti-microbial application during non-working hours, so we did not disrupt learning or need to close down the center
What made this Commercial Air Duct Cleaning Project Unique?
The daycare center is open during the day, and we completed the cleaning over a four-night period, this required us to clean up and ensure the classrooms were all set for the next day in between our cleanings. Also, after cleaning the ductwork, we applied an anti-microbial application throughout the ductwork. In commercial spaces, this process of applying anti-microbial takes longer than residential ductwork.
How long did this commercial air duct cleaning project take?
Our team took four nights to clean the ductwork on both the supply lines and return lines of their HVAC systems. For commercial ductwork, it’s important to clean the return grills (vent covers) which helps keep the ductwork clean and helps aesthetically to the cleanliness of the space. We clean ductwork during normal working hours and after hours as needed by customers, and we are flexible with what works for the business.

Benefits of Commercial Air Duct Cleaning
The result of this commercial air duct cleaning was:
- Peace of mind that the cleaning was completed, and indoor air quality is safe
- A safe learning space for children
- Increased Energy Savings because of less stress on the HVAC system
- Quality Air Flow due to clean ductwork with no blockage
- Better team morale from a clean working environment
We recommend having a commercial air duct cleaning completed every 5-7 years for normal cases. However, for commercial dryer vent cleaning, we recommend every 6-18 months and even more frequently for high usages such as hotels, salons, and commercial spaces with daily dryer use. Air duct cleaning can also be more frequent if the indoor air quality is jeopardized by renovations, cooking grease, smoke, allergies, or large amounts of dust accumulation.
Constantly circulating dust, debris and pollen can lead to reduced employee productivity, illness, and even turn customers and clients away from your business—don’t risk the health of others AND your business. In fact, indoor air can be up to 70 percent more polluted than outdoor air—which is why scheduling routine commercial air duct cleaning for your commercial property is important!
Applying Anti-Microbial in Commercial Duct Work
After cleaning the ductwork, we can apply the anti-microbial application Benefect Decon 30 an EPA-registered cleaning agent that kills pollutants on contact. We use this application because it is herb based from the herb Thyme and is a “green cleaning agent”. The benefits for commercial buildings are that after the initial source removal duct cleaning, the ductwork is fogged with this application and ensures that pollutants are killed once the cleaning agent reaches the supply vents.
